Narcolepsy* hard and heavy watch me fall asleep
Lulled to bed in a cunning thread of the tangled web we weave
I dream in pristine colors, windows of my mind anew
No fingerprints or ***** looks or evidence of you

I find comfort in forever wherever it may be
I may have left my home but it will always stay with me
The smell of all the smoke with the sound of all the rain
On constant playback every second deep within my brain

I found that time is all that matters and everything else faded
I spent years and years learning how to forget everything I hated
I've only gotten older and have nothing left to show
Except a ringing alarm clock and blood on my pillow

Narcolepsy** hard and heavy watch me as I sleep
Another pill, another high, another date to keep
If I shall die before I wake, I hope that I'm with you
Then it won't matter where I go, cause you will see me through
she dries her hair in sun
in red frock windborne high
dreaming there's one
one day would pass her by

enwrapping in heat
sun licks her oily skin
flows down her lithe feet
craves one peep deep within

tickles her wind's mischief
its murmurs's caress
titillates her like a leaf
paints a rose on face

with her i can spin
yearns in my core
she's sweet sixteen
i'm two scores more
the heart feels a gypsy
the mind a vagabond
the eyes get misty
by the lilies in the pond

bloom the petals pinkish
smudged with streaks of white
swaying slow by wind's kiss
glory displayed bright

upon the slender neckline
crowns of innocent smiles
fill all dark with sunshine
wipe out weary miles

o traveler feel the invite
merrily pause to respond
be a while in sunlight
among the lilies of the pond
inspiration: my cover photo
Ablaze night, by the pearls white
Sickle moon, shinning silver in light
Thrift of the whistling wind
And tap of the hooves ringing loud
Rider of the sky
In whites of the cloud

Fiery vermilion on the fore head
Valiant like sun
Eyes like fire, tall stature with mountain strength
His gallant armor with diamond harpe his only weapon
Crown of his, unique of the clan
Heroic dazzle and rings of power in his hand

Shelter far away in the milky land
In the galaxy of the stars
With golden falls and silky sand
Red grasslands and purple hanging trees
Reverse in the times of the gigantic clock wheel

Fire wings , of silk white
Flying open with the riding wind
To his hides,up away in the hills
Disappearing with the shade of light

Square

I was once a shape...
Equally jointed,
at four opposite points.

I was a square...
I never knew the way of the world.
Never open to new experiences,
even when they presented themselves bare...
Even when the shrouds of uncertainty
were wiped away leaving the future unfurled.

I grew up...
Huddled under the roof set above me,
with four walls that kept me safe and sheltered.
That was the entire universe.
That was all I saw...
Views so narrow and uneventful...
A life so bland with the fun bits all sheared.

Never brought up to question...
Never given the time and space to think.
There was always a yardstick upon which I was measured.
The sea of expectations was vast but shallow...
So I could wade forever,
but never sink.

I was once a shape...
No one then expected me to be other than a square.
I had everything I needed,
all within the confines of imposing cordons and tapes.
But the world would constantly rap on the windows.
Peddling its fantastical ware.
It would entice with its secrets and mysteries.
Boasting the wonderful stories it'd like to share.

I was a shape in my cosy little shell,
I stayed...
I nestled.
My cookie-cutter thoughts would
occasionally rebel...
And stray to the windows.
But still they were imprisoned by the
walls that surrounded.

I would steal bashful peeks
out a window.
I'd let my senses take unrestricted flights,
as I stared into the grandeur of the carnival
that seemed to have sprouted overnight...

Just beyond the confines of my home.

"What a marvellous circus!" I'd think...
I'd gawk with child-like adoration
and never blink.

The universe lay sprawled
in a celebration of systematic chaos.
It stretched far into the horizon...
A delight to the senses,
perceived through such young eyes.
The world had told me stories.
They were like fireworks
that speared up to the sky.

I wanted to be a part of the jubilee...
I longed for the validation of my existence.
I wished to claim the gift of life bestowed upon me.
I'd resent being held hostage by my indoctrinated ignorance.

I was a shape.
I knew I was a square.
I knew I had a home...
But not within those four walls.
Simply because...
My heart wasn't there.

Two fishing poles, a feather,
a leather jacket with holes
on both elbows, forty-four
dollars and change in
an envelope, some dope,
a pair of worn out cowboy boots,
a clay flute shaped like a bird
that can't whistle a tune worth a lick,
an unused bus ticket, a picture
of two kids laughing pretending
to fly; an eyelash in my eye.
In memory of a brother.

Someday I will leave
the cold sea

Leave its dark quiet wake
like all the long nights
I've forgotten

I will go sleep
on the soft shoulder
of the mountains

Watch her hands
cupping the moon

Somewhere west
of these frozen sad dunes

Say goodbye to the cry of the gull
and the bluewater wind I love

that leaves me feeling so cold.
