Tired

Ashly Kocher
I need a break
To get away
Somewhere warm
Maybe to stay
Even for a week
To relax and play
This body is tired
Of working my life away

Jasmine
A little bit of hope
a daisy blooming in my eyes,
A warming ray of light
strikes my face just right

A wave etching itself on an ocean shore
pain tracing from my fingertips
into the sand to be washed away
a little bit of hope today.

It's a predictable cycle
Peaceful Nature.
The hum of the streams
layered by the whistle and the **** call.
Sunning spring green grasses
dew soaking the new season's blade.
A croak interrupts the morning,
calling us out to the field.
Only we hold our position, listening in anticipation.
Nature excites us as though the unexpected will appear momentarily,
only it's the regularity that surprises.
Our nervous system is poised for action,
until we realize the day is relaxing, breathing deeply,
Sat in prayer and obedience.

Awareness is everything
But, we must be willing to open our eyes
For they do not see everything
Moments often catch us by surprise
The unpredictability of life
Often puts us in this position
So thought provoking
Nothing but an inquisition
The fickleness of life
Often takes our breath away
Confusion and frustration
Makes its appearance each day
When we lack awareness
It can lead to total chaos
Filled with bewilderment
Some of us may appear to be lost

Born
Those days (II)
 Apr 2017 Josie
Born
We were diamonds
Riding on a carriage of dreams
that kept us going

Courageous despite smoky years
eyes on the price
believing its what we wanted

But it ain't what most people think it is
You follow it and it becomes an obsession
and you stray further from reality

You keep wanting and not living
Life becomes a dream
all you had to be was happy

Don't chase a false reality
contentment is what matters

Stuck
In a world filled with greed
and cynic beings
longing for What never was
A dog's life

On the dog the blazing sun pours
but closed are all the doors

hungry and thirsty and mad in heat
the asphalt burns his feet

Isn't there a kind heart
to see and feel his pain

to play God's part
as His will ordained?

Life without a roof

His bed is the pavement
roof the firmament

famished and sick
his pillow is a brick

people pass without a stare
if you're fine all else is fair

their sight is a shame
disreputes the city's fame

Where is God?

Full is His misery's cup
all muddled up
He has no clue

why nothing went fine
with his divine design
what to do!

Is all lost?*

Two gifts you still can feel
in your mind live their trace

to use them if you truly will
love and kindness*.

Saves you a lot more time than
Drowning people out.

I've seen how the loss of industry can decimate a town.

Like when that yo-yo factory was closed down
and the workers all hung themselves from lampposts
and just bounced up and down.

Up and down.

cheryl love
Smooth, silky and seductive
The pleasure was all mine.
Chocolate melting in the back of my throat
Dripping like the sands of time.
