Daydream coffee drinker, that would be me

People watch
Coffee cup lipstick blotch
Pours the cream to cool the steam
Fearing what the future will bring
I may be living on a shoesting
In a coffeehouse daydream
Things are better than what they may seem

I have no words for today
Perhaps another day
My heart will have something to say

Another birthday is here
Suddenly the autumn of my life appeared
As I look back at the years
What did I have to fear?
Suddenly everything is clear
I wasted another year

Why won't you ring
Any job will do
I need money

I've been gone for a year
But I'm back to read lines of nonsense prose
And write lines of the subconscious in your ear

Lonely days, soft and cloudy
Lonely nights, sad and sleepy
She binges on Twinkies and whiskey
She's looking for signs of Spring
She's looking for lovers and sounds of laughter
She's looking for any old thing
To come back to life
To end winter's strife

I want reckless love, the deepest kind of love
The "I can't stay away from you" kind of love
The "you are my destiny" kind of love
The "sleep in and I'll make you breakfast" kind of love
The "I can read your mind" kind of love
The "I have butterflies in my stomach when you're near" kind of love
