I walk in the call center
wearing my headphone gear
With sweaty palms and nervous voice,
I ask myself what am I doing here?
I trip over a chair in a cramped work space
Soon a customer will be yelling in my ear
A call center is a revolving door
As easy as it was to get hired,
it's just as easy to get fired
A lady whispered in my ear,
you need to quit this job, my dear
I briefly worked in a call center. Not for me.

How can a Facebook rejection
hurt so much?
I wasn't looking for a lover
(maybe you were)
I was looking for a friend
Confusion at your silence
Wanted you to care, and
I came up empty
**** you, Facebook

Did you wonder if
I caught your glances?
Yes, of course I did
and, I know you caught mine
No, it wasn't infatuation
it was a fascination that
your face graces my imagination
Yes, a shared moment,
and then quickly over

Our wires connected
Yes, I saw your glances
And, when our eyes met,
you looked away
Yes, I saw your shyness
And, your face fascinated me
but it wasn't infatuation
it was an electric connection
