I'd rather cuddle than go to the park
Said my friend
I'd rather cuddle then go to the park*
Said I
What a difference one little letter makes
Funny that both 'a' and 'e' are the most used
Out of all the 26 children, these are the most abused
(Sorry that was dark, I had to write it though
I've got a new contract giving me a quota
And setting a minimum of X poems a day
With L number of lines with Q words per line
And purple plus candy canes equals love.
Another provision in my contract is that I must write
Anything and everything and whatever comes to mind)
So I'm thinking of all these letters and thinking
Why these? Why 26? Why have 'c' if 's' and 'k' can do its job?
And why do people have favorites?
Which makes my mind segue into this thought:
Why have favorites at all? Everything will be a favorite
Something to someone, right?
And what does it benefit us to love a letter or symbol such as <3
Or maybe :)
Is it because our mind sees patterns and so instead of seeing
The mathematically incorrect 'less than three' we see a heart
And instead of 'colon parentheses' (correct in no context but the internet) we see a smile
And in all honesty, we must admit, <3 and  :) are not biologically
Or physiologically accurate
So how did we come up with the super-simplified emoticon?
And who came up with a word like emoticon anyway??

The Flowers Completely Withered,
A Shadow Sneakily Slithered,
Through The Eerie Night

A Heart Tattered,
And Pages Of A Memoir Brutally Battered,
What A Mysterious Sight

Black Shadows Masqurade,
A Girl Young--So Brave,
Killing Demons With A Soul So Bright

Needle In Her Brain,
The Skin On Her Arm Stained,
Yet She Still Fights

The Clouds Aloft,
Warm Breath Covered In Frost,
Falling Stars Ignite

Eyelids Heavy And Drooping,
Thoughts Entangled--Endlessly Looping,
Ones That Are Neither Wrong Nor Right

Consciousness Forced,
A Body Exhausted As If She Just Climbed A Horst,
Darkness Enclosing The Light

A Glassy Stare Holding Greenish Eyes,
Metal Teeth Tearing Helping To Disguise,
The Disease Which Was Given Out Of Spite

Walls White And Square,
Sometimes Life Is Just Not Fair,
Dream Of A Better Tomorrow As You Sleep Tight

From mountains to rills,
A sweet anthem fills the air,
Sweet birds are flying.

Down the avalanche,
Gallops beautiful horses,
Jumping and running.

The cute squirrel,
Jumping sings from tree to tree,
And chasing it's friends.

In the dark forest,
The smell of honeysuckles,
Makes the forest sweet.

I love Nature dear,
From mountains to meadows,
Fields of sweet flowers!

Down in the valley,
Beautiful flowers will bloom,
In Springtime.

The sweet waterfall,
With it's moss-covered boulders,
Makes things beautiful!

The sweet humming bird,
Flys from flower to flower,
Gathering nectar.

At pretty nighttime,
The owls hoot in the night,
And sweet birds do sleep.

The full moon at night,
Sweetly looks down on houses,
Watching children sleep.

The sound of crickets,
Birds, toads, and katydids,
Make a pretty song!

There once was a lady,
Who sat for seven years.
She sat by herself,
Her eyes filled with tears.

There once was a lady,
Who sat for seven years,
She sat by herself,
Where spiders made webs from her ears.

There once was a lady,
Who sat for seven years,
Thinking of her husband,
Who used to drink many beers.

There once was a lady,
Who sat for seven years,
Recollecting the day,
To life came all her fears.

There once was a lady,
Who was once very glad.
She was overwhelmed,
With everything she had.

There once was a lady,
Who wanted to have kids.
She was so happy on that day,
Until she found her son had SIDS.

There once was a lady,
Who was so filled with grief.
Her husband left her,
To her utter disbelief.

There once was a lady,
Who sat for seven years.
She sat by herself,
Her eyes filled with tears.

Roses are red, but only sometimes
And I don't care much for them anyways
Violets are never blue
But I like crepe myrtles better
Sugar is sweet, but too sweet for me
I'd much rather have spicy
As for you? You're only sweet all the time
Other times, you're incredible.
It's way too early for valentines day, isn't it?

Hilda
Lavender rose, thy petals broken,
So hap'ly crushed beneath careless feet.
Damask perfume breathes melody sweet
From thy bruised heart a weeping token.

Upon thoughts so drear my spirit dwells,
Shaken with guilt and hopeless despair;
Mourning to know harsh words and grim cares
Break cherished ones to death's angry knells.

No more able to shout defiance
Of their wild laughter or moods forlorn
When once from our grasp the rose be torn,
Instead of clamour - empty silence.
