Bittersweet
Jade Wiseman Aug 2017
The sun beats gently down upon me
As I stand outside
I smile as the wind blows
And pushes my hair aside
It softly kisses my cheeks
As if saying hello
Then quickly drifts away
With somewhere new to go
The sky is blue and cloudless
As far as the eye can see
Over plains flowing endless
But for one tree
That tree is why I came here
To this sacred place
I came the reminder
The memory of your face
The tree stands strong
among the fields all day
Just the same as you did
Before you passed away
