You wore your tattoos
Just like your heart
On your sleeves of wonderful art
Each tells a story, a reason
Each admired and seen
But it was your heart
That wanted to be seen, heard
It was your heart that had the reasons
Of why you were art itself
Your skin adored
But it was the heart that yearned
A canvas for black ink, worn proudly
An uncolored heart, worn openly
You loved the pain of the needle
But you feared the pain of your vessel
Despite it all
You wore your heart on your sleeve
Aching to be filled, colored
To tell its story, its love
Your most beautiful tattoo
Is the empty outline
Of where your love should be
Silence said more than words ever could.

I know what we have isn't gone

Because if it was

It would have stopped hurting

Wake your soul—
Tell me you see the floor.
The void has distorted the existence,
I keep falling, there's no resistence.
Wake your soul—
Tell me it didn't devour you.
The void controls the void mind,
Despairs you in no time and kind.
Wake your soul—
Do not worship it.
Everything blossomed, just like our feelings.
Hello April, it's good to have you, and your back.
The sun burns brighter, as if I were a moth;
everything turns green, while I fade to black.

Breathe in,
Slow down,
Breathe out the rust of travels past,
Walk down,
Step up,
Settle into tomorrow's sky,
Close eyes,
Open mind,
Drift away to distant days,
Smell lemons,
Taste salt,
Let time swallow me whole,
Surrender to the version of me that waits south of me now.
ten years,
too late.

ten years—

and there's
no debate:

i will do
everything

to not be

like you.

i'm no saint,

but i know
when enough
is enough

and to draw
a line,

before it's
too late.

people come
and people go;

and i've come
to terms with
forgiving

and letting
go.

but in the midst of
it all, i hope
to be better

than to
risk it all.

because impressions
are forever,

and

i've learned
to forgive you
and move past it

rather than fall.
some legacies are meant to end. this isn't anger. this is release.

breathe
do you feel your lungs expanding?
do you feel you chest rising?
open
open your eyes
do you see the sun?
the moon?
the stars?
the clouds?
all of them were made for you
you
wonderful
       beautiful
                lovely
                                           YOU
sincerely,
someone who cares

I died
A life worth living
is a life worth dying

or
so I was sold

I still smell you
in my brain

A dumpster fire
to re-train

And loose
Capitulate

For an absence of identity within
