The sun disturbs the earth’s deep peace,
Its light blinding the quiet dirt,
Signaling the dawn — hope and hustle,
The bustle of feet trampling the soil.
The peace is gone, yet the earth feels alive.

The plants stretch toward the sun,
Sprouting leaves like hands receiving blessings.
It shines, it nourishes, it replenishes the earth;
The sun warms their buoyant company,
It sinks its light into the earth’s grateful heart.

And when the sun departs, the earth darkens,
Missing the friendship that disturbs its peace,
Missing the loud echoes of marching feet.
The earth lies still as the quiet moon wakes,
Waiting to greet her friend when dusk fades.
Friendship
Israel Jul 5
Like the night, our love has come to an end.
Like the sun, loneliness has become my light.
Like the stars, my heart is scattered in fragments.
Like the clouds, my mind is foggy and misted.

I dance when no one is watching.
I dance because there’s no one looking.
I smile to all—and to no one.
I cry, because there’s no one.

You were my everything,
The only reason I was seen.
With you, I was the worthiest piece.
Now, I’m the loneliest piece in the galleria.
