Jack of all trades, master of none.
Until poetry came.
I was Jack. Or so I thought.

Love, you see
Is very easy
Easy as 1, 2, 3
As A, B, C

I give my heart to you
You give me yours
Ooops! Don't break it!
For I'll also drop yours

I point a gun into your chest
And you're free to do the same
Because in us, we trust
That our fingers that can pull the trigger, is too numb

I give my all to you
You give your all to me
I'll promise forever to you
Will you promise forever to me too?

Love is easy, it should be
It's just a matter of give and take
A symbiotic interaction called mutualism
A law called equivalent exchange

But love isn't easy
Emotions, situations, make it so hard
If only it was easy
Poetry won't exist even now

If love was as easy as a barter system
I'll offer you my all, you can take them
And I'll succumb to all that you've given
But love isn't easy at all, love just isn't

My name is JP
And I'm 23
I live somewhere in the Philippines
Where tropical birds are singing

I finished a Computer Science degree
And I currently work in an I.T. Company
As a Spiderman
Developing web programs

I earn about fourteen thousand pesos per month
Depending on the deductions my employers' cut
And the expenses I have to pay
Because I have to support my family everyday

My objective for sending you my résumé
Is to apply for a position, if I may
I am applying as your forever, if that's not too cliche
I am very serious, don't think of it as a play

I am not that hardworking, but I can work smart
I'll make your every mornings a great start
You cook and I'll go wash the dishes
I'll hug you from behind, and shower you with kisses

I am a good singer, I'll always serenade you
I am a good dancer, let's sway and dance tango
I am a poet, I'll dedicate poems for you
I am a dreamer, let's wake up our dreams for two

I'll let you indulge with wanderlust and see the world
I'll keep surprising you with small gifts tied with a ribbon
I'll keep my vow that there will be no one but you
I'll pledge with full loyalty that I'll always be true

I can list down more if you'd like to
But that'll be too many, so I'll stop with these few
These are my assets, things I'm good at
I'm introducing you to what I have and what I got

So, please carefully review my application
This won't be enough proof, I know
But as our relationship grows as lovers
You'll see I'm worth your forever

For character reference, here's my number
Let's go to dinner, I'll give you a call
Sincerely yours,
Your soon-to-be future
Applying for someone's forever. I hope I'll be hired.

They don’t want what they say
They don’t say want they want
They play their games
They’re dating savants

I’m looking for love, could I be the only one?
Butterflies and goosebumps
And thousands of hugs

If true love exists, please let me know
I’m running out of faith
Should I just let the dream go?
I whispered your name into the inner
twisting curl of a conch shell, hoping
an echo from saltier waves would carry
it through shadow-rimmed currents until it
flowed softly along the shore, like my breath
settling across your neck

In the inner labyrinths
when I  walk alone
a gazing benevolent  eye, I see,
the helix nebula of my origin
watching me, intently
beloved star, once a dazzling sun,
you refuse to go quietly
in to the night's ferocity
mother dear, in your core
undying love still burns
singing my favorite old lullaby.
Helix Nebula,
in the shape of a giant eye,
is a dying star  bigger in death than in life;
it's cosmic tantrum is spectacular....
Remains of a star it is, more like our sun..reminds me weakening  connection of umbilical chord..as time ticks away

Here's to the ones who loved and just forgot
Broken promises, easy endings, no tying the knot
Perhaps they lost before and that was their shot
Around and around they go, the ever loveless lot

Here's to the ones who never thought a thing
About heavens that soar and angels that sing
Gates up in the clouds and a heavenly king
Smothering the ungodly flames that hell bring

Here's to the ones who are above the rule of order
Steering clear and clever from the symptoms of cancer
Minding, winding their stories into their own favor
Rather than to the social systems they know better

Here's to the ones who are devoid of anything good
Whatever path they lead—will always be misunderstood
The eternal monsters and demons of their neighborhood
Not even the exorcists will save them even if they could

Here's to the ones who look at life with a skeptical screen
Something bad must have happened in between
Distorting their eyes once so pure like crystalline
Soiling them with a reality unmendable and obscene

Here's to every nonbeliever in this world both beautiful and sorry
Believing in their own terms glorious and free,
though rather* **painfully
I'm with the ones who are shoved at the back for their beliefs. I have some pretty liberal and weird beliefs myself. I'd say I am not a conservative person at all so I could look on to their beliefs as an extension of mine.

people love to come into my life,
and dangle themselves in front of me
so close,
that I can feel their warmth
and hear their breath
so I can smell their scent
and see their beauty
and just as I am about to reach out
to embrace their presence,
they yank themselves up and out of my life
leaving me confused and hopeless,
until the next one finds me
