As close letting
to bending bones
broken,

As wide setting
so mending minds
rhyme,

As We of age,
collateral children
in time will rage

In strapless grown,
in dead damage
razed by wings flown.
melancholy wind
moans off the hilltop
grass responds in rhythm
clouds wheel across the landscape
leaving figment message
along the ground
bring visions to mind
which aren’t even mine
change unlike time
moves back and forward
the myth of now
shapes history past
fates arise in retrospect
regret is futures toil
chaotic blows the sand
when scene inside the storm
remove yourself
to see yourself
the patterns that are borne
the flow and ebb
that has no care
to minuscule endeavors
yet we knit and purl
at Indra's net
unconscious to
the state of grace
to which we aim
unerring
Strange occurrence when looking at the sky
Seeing you standing there
A sight for blind eyes
Took me by surprise
Lies being spread
By the sadness on your face
A disguise, you're a disgrace
What you did to me
Will never be forgotten
Rotten to your core
I'm just surprised
I didn't notice it before
Don't look at me
Don't speak to me
You're dead to me
I'm glad it's over
I'm thrilled we're done
But don't you worry
I'll be sure to tell everyone
No one will ever forget
You'll be the one
With all the regrets
In my mind
Your face will be erased
And hopefully by next week
I'll forget your name
The past is behind me
Your memory is just history
Never to be repeated
I've learned my lesson
And now - **YOU ARE NOTHING

Your body is a garbage can.
Your body is white, why

let others touch it, why
not. Why

my body so

If only I knew
now, as much as I did when
I was seventeen

A voice whispers dig a little deeper
No time to be a sleeper
You are a secret keeper
**** the sheep herder
Or the mad hoarder
There is something to be found
Deeper, deeper, down, down
And the ground opens up
And the sound throws up
And the liars show up to shut up
And the thoughts runs on
To places where they don’t belong
And I ever the fool follow them
Drowning in my own idealism
Forgetting and recalling realism
Knowing that cynicism
Is usually closer to the truth
I follow that dark river
Cause that is what I am driven to do
Past the fake fair and balanced news
Past the Preachers and politicians
Past the cops, judges, and lawyers
Back to science and philosophy
Through literature and history
Till the discord in me finds some peace
And I fold my cold self
Into blankets of new and old truths
Even then my inner friend
Says digger a little deeper
So I try to
Listening to birds
our doves and all the wildlings
brightens my mornings
The sixth of nine short poems written before I got out of bed this morning.

Every rock has been claimed
and it is all
sand slipping through fingers
grabbed by another's hand
and a flag raised in conquest.
