Is the ink in my pen gone dry?
Lately, I put the pen to my paper
But the paper remains blank

I saw sadness on a stranger's face
And I shed a few tears!

Like an Actor in a movie scene
I know I'm on this stage called life
To act a story which was fore written
Way long before I was introduced on the scene

Trials and tribulations
Tests and persecutions
Trying times
Challenging periods
They are all part of the stage settings

They only last for a season
For faith workout reasons
Besides, they say whatever doesn't **** you
Helps build your muscle
Makes you a better person
Even if it doesn't physically appear to

Countless times, life's storms has blown
But my roots are deeply rooted in Him,
Way too firm to be uprooted
As long as the movie director sits on His throne
That's my guarantee that I won't drown in any phase
My total reliance on Him leaves me unfazed

I must admit, a few times I've been broken
But He never fails to come to my rescue
He rearranges my broken pieces like a puzzle
He fixes me so good, it often leaves my jaw dropping
In between my cracks, He makes flowers blossom
Please, isn't He awesome!

But I won't even lie
Sometimes, I still find myself doubting
Like it was just luck or something
But I know that's the flesh in me talking
Where would I have been without His mercies
I've walked on dry land in life's Red Sea

My God has proved Himself in many cases
At my lowest point, He raised me
To Him goes all my praises
Through it all,
I've learnt the race is not to the swiftest
And this movie of my life that
He's producing is definitely the dopest.

They throw stones at you because
they can see fruits on you,
Don't let their criticism get to you
Bless them too with your fruits
While you continue to produce.

It's easier said than done
I gave him courage to walk on the thorns
I'm so nervous now that it's my turn!

This problem is too big to fix
OR
This problem is too big to miss
The difference is your perception!

Her soul is trapped within my soul
Even though, she is gone
But her soul is not done

Their smile is not a proof that they are
happy for you but their thoughts toward you is.
But if you can't see their thoughts,
How can you tell the fake from the real.

When you realize that you have greatness in your DNA
And that nothing can successfully stand in your way
Obstacles & hurdles wouldn't bother you
because you know you'll always scale through
You become aware that nothing can limit you
because the greater One lives inside of you
You become conscious that you were born a winner
designed to be victorious and indomitable
And the only one capable of stopping you, is you.

I am trying to write
But how can I,
when I'm in the writer's block.
My poetry book has been complaining
She said, recently it's been really lonely,
She hasn't felt the fingertips of my pen on her skin
I told her to put all the blame on me,
I'll make it up to you
But for now, let me hit the snooze.

The sky is a canvas
The clouds are paints
The stars are glitters
Look up
And adore nature's work of art
It would inspire you
To reach for the sky

Sometimes, the only change
that changes almost everything
is—a change of perspective.
Have you tried that yet?

Life is a personal race
Distraction it is, focusing on another's pace
Stay grounded in your own space
Stay out of comparison's cage
Jealousy is a fuel for unnecessary rage
Success has nothing to do with age
With eyes focused on goals and on God,
that's how you ace your race.

I see thirsty throats
Trying to drink from the cup of power
The multitude gasping for a sip
Quite a number appeared with hoses and pumps
While some are gunning to take a hold of the cup in its entirety

Wanting love and not giving
Possessing and not sharing
Dreaming and not working towards it
Having a gift without people benefitting
Having a heart without empathy
What's the point in
Breathing and not living!

beaming brightly into my heart
It gets me high like

This is the feeling I want to feel everytime

Let's appreciate people while they're alive
After Nipsey Hussle (artist) was gone,
we started calling him King
I've seen this happen too many times

Let's take care of our old parents
while they're still around
Instead of blowing all our money
on their funeral

Let's tell people what they mean to us
And not wait till they depart from us
Let them reap their praises
while still here on earth
It will definitely gladden their heart.

Taking undue advantage of people
By concealing key information within
terms and conditions
"Nobody wants to read this long texts
Let's collect their rights from them"
Let's have them append their signatures
on the click of a single button

Why does a delay have to attract other delays
Like, when you leave your house later than normal
Then the buses decide to run behind schedule and
Almost every traffic light turns red as you approach
Oh, there's a collision ahead too, another unexpected traffic
Sitting in that bus feeling grumpy, grouchy
Just that, you never really know because
Sometimes delays can be a blessing
Ask the person who missed a flight (due to delays) and that plane ended up crashing
(unfortunately)
I guess it's just best to embrace the uncontrollable
Knowing/Assuming that all things
work together for your good.

It is not about who is against you,
it is about who is for you.
If God is for you,
your opposers will be witnesses

That looks like a palette of paint

Waterfall of ink
Temporarily goes dry

The unplanned sometimes
come in the way of the planned,
which usually feels like a roadblock.
Painful, saddening, even depressing.

But who really can tell if
it's truly an obstruction
without seeing the complete picture
Ultimately, it could be a detour to the right path.

Artificial intelligence robots need data
Humans need experiences
Data and experiences are the inputs
How they are well processed will
determine the outputs.

The homeless man down the street
We all walk pass him
Treat him like he's discrete
Some will toss coins in his tin
No one ever looked in his eyes
At least, I did not
The general notion is, he messed up his own life
Maybe, he did not
Or maybe, he did
I think he deserves more than the coins
He sure needs something more
Just crumbs of love from passersby
Just an attention that he also exists!

Knowledge is likened unto a seed
The application of knowledge is
similar to the planting of a seed
Putting them to use is what produces fruits
And just like seeds, knowledge can still
be shared with others even if not used personally
Sharing what you know never reduces
what you know.

Some things are first seen by the heart
before they become visible to the eyes.
An invention for example, was first an
idea in the mind before it's given life
and then revealed to the world.

Don't search outside for what is within
Joy and peace are found on the inside
If you can't picture it, you can't draw (fetch) it out
Let the unseen influence the seen
and not the other way around.

The best is yet to come!
The most vital part of the future is now
How do you cross to the other side
When the bridge is gone

Now is the time to solidify
Or build the bridge
That's readiness for that which is to come
Start, before the now is gone!

How are we supposed to deal with this?

Clouds like white cotton candy

When greed and the insatiable hunger for power
Becomes the drive for our daily actions
We tend to give little or no respect to others
Sadly, many today are living in this fashion
Which explains the current condition of things in our world

The love of money supersedes the regards
given to humans and the environment
Corporations are raking money almost
at every living things' detriments
It's almost certain that these destructions will never end
Hope we don't end up ending humanity.

If you can't befriend yourself,
It would be hard to befriend another
Keep your spirit, soul and body joined together,
Let no human or anything put asunder
Here's a reminder, you're born a winner
Let no circumstance put your head under its shoulder
In the face of anything,
Do remember, you are way tougher.

Before I ever came into being,
I was first your selection
Then, you gave me life by
Breathing into my nostrils

I, wonderfully and beautifully made
In the likeness of Your own image
I, clothed and showered with Your love
Yet chose to disobey Your single law

Because of my disobedience,
Your blood had to be spilled
That I might be recreated into a new being
Yet I haven't given you total preeminence

The things that I wish not to do,
I find myself doing (even over & over again)
Still, your love for me hasn't moved an inch
From the deepest and innermost part of my being,
I just want to thank You Lord.

Constantly dreaming of soaring
To float in the sky with the clouds
But how could he accomplish this
When carrying a backpack full of regrets

How does he take his blessings
When his hands are full, holding grudges
How could he ever fly
When carrying the burden of
what people think of him

His gaze is not on his destination
Constantly staring at other's progress
How would he not be in distress
A victim of self-inflicted stress

The things that we ought not to carry,
We clench unto them like floating devices
They are the actual cause of our drownings
Silently pulling our heads below the water

Let go of unnecessary burden
And become lightweight like the birds
You'll see how easy it is to fly
Reaching and exceeding your desired heights.

The eggshell is an important layer of protection
To the growing embryo that is within the egg
Which implies that the shell's function
is to support the embryo's growth

However, when the embryo grows & turns to a chick,
The shell (of protection) now becomes a barrier
That the chick needs to peck & break through
In order to live to its full potential

That's a true story of how
The thing that provides comfort  
Later turns to act as a limitation.
What is that comfort that you've enjoyed
But is now holding you back
From being the person you ought to be
Maybe it's time to peck, to break through
And become who you were made to be!
