You were never really mine yet
I wished and hope you were
I cared so much to pretend
That we were more than just this

I played along with this thought
That it coiled my mind and into madness
Thinking that I had a chance
To hold you more than anyone can

That you felt the same as I did
And I often forget as always
That we will just be this
And nothing more, nothing after

I long to be with you my rose sweet
Yet here I wait not knowing when
Shall fate brings me to your lips again
Just know only this among the many
That there is a heart that beats for you alone

Through hell and liberty
migayle ocuaman May 2019
Seeds of man that shall one day grow,
Let it blossom once more the flowers of youth,
The spring of enlightened breeze that blow,
Through the garden of hope, fertilized by truth,
Upon a land that has been set a blaze,
A nation that burns bright as hell fire,
The sufferings of this people for years and days,
For the system that cares nothing but selfish desire,
Yet the common man may not come to see,
To feel the fresh air of liberties breeze,
Time will pass again to the land in chains,
exposing the wolves that have reign,
till then we strive forward as our fathers did,
opening our eyes from the lies we've seen,
until the sun rises high we shall be rid,
the cancer of societies dark veil of evil sins,
Once we have been cleansed by waters of truth,
We shall once again bare the fruits of our labor,
Whereas are bond is strongly entwined as root,
we shall grow together strong for we have been delivered.

Clearing doubts
migayle ocuaman May 2019
I hold you closer than I ever knew I could do
hoping this is not a mere dream or your silly ruse
I thought I’d recognize when love was true
just a foolish hopeless romantic who fell for you

Am I ready for love or maybe I'm just your friend
still thinking and doubting full of questions in the end
I wish it was real and I hope I'm not just an option
Should there be a difference, are there any instructions?

I hope you stick around, we can still figure this out
to help me clear all of our frightening doubt
please me help figure things out even if things go south
am I ignorant or was I fooled by the stories I knew

I thought the birds would sing and sparks would fly
in my mind I hope that this moment would pause in time
I held you hoping you'd never leave me and take flight
hope its true when you said I love you that special night

From empty hand, we rise to meet,
Upon manless land for death to greet.
Soar to the height untilthe fall,
Mark the deeds of the valiant tall.
In end, its hand, reach to our grave,
Of those who'd come to seek the brave.
And stare the horror between the sorrow,
Grasp an idea of a better tomorrow.

If they come for me
migayle ocuaman May 2019
If I were to disappear if they come for me in the night
Will anyone know what i did when the sun shined bright
Though i once lived breathe and stand
To fight for justice with a close fist in defiance
Shall i raise my voice and cry out against silence
Even if i was taken by those within the shadow
Truth be told  i was foolishly brave to resist
No one would know my final thoughts
Yet I am sure i will be missed
Though I fear my time has come to end
I wish to linger more in peace to settle
Though they would only destroy the vessel
For this ideals that I hold will fly and spread
If I were to disappear into the night
Light a candle in by my bed
For i will have no grave in my stead

I’ll remember the time we've spent
I’ll remember those cries you've wept

We used to call each other names
Sticks and stones that were in good faith

We’ve conquered what we saw in the world
Kings and lords but we are brothers after all

Witnessed the fruits of our labors
Turned to a glutton’s cash papers

Drafted into needless costly wars
Holding each other for little warmth

As a friend’s tears start as he rushes to intervene
A comrade’s last laugh as he falls dead at the scene

Those leaves did grow
From branches overgrown
Drifting slowly down
Resting in the snow.

Like empty, fallen souls
Looking for a home.
Little soldier boy
Thought that he could soar.

Only to sadly fall
Such as ash in the snow
From warm flames to fragile, broken hearts
Now cold and all alone
With no place to go.

unwavering spirit that hold him still

as the thunder of the hallow skies
noble be his duty till the final relief

striving till the final strength fades
death may come and steal him now
yet never his glory neither his honor
as he who hold the helm against the odds

he has sowed his seed to this free land
to which he toiled its grand fertile soil
that no tyrant invader may trample

I had a childhood
migayle ocuaman May 2019
I had, I had !
An enjoyable childhood,
If not that blissful,
But wishful and cheerful.
Playing, roaming around,
Not in the playground,
For we don't have open fields
In towns, where we're sealed
To be with books even in noon
Like a worm in its cocoon.

I had, I had!
An enjoyable childhood
Amidst focus of doing good
In study, by our parents.
Lucky our parents, not getting
To witness our clothes,
While playing,
Splattered and tattered
Unlucky, my mother
Who got shattered
To see her own clothes scattered,
In the action.

I had, I had!
An enjoyable childhood
Having business
With every arrival of festivals
Delight, excite, joy, happiness
Were,in those events, the Suitable Adjectives
Wish of lengthening
The duration of holidays, festivals,
Were our Inertia.
Whilst youth spring rising up,
Tensions would follow up,
As uncompleted homework
And projects and works
Would pile up.

I had, I had!
A childhood, once,
Little, now alone in hand, I was
But for a long time ,
Depressed by fear of death,
An unavoidable fate
That would separate me
from my mother to 'Thee'

And to me, at that time
Growing up & becoming a man
Was landing myself
In the middle of a vast ocean
Full of responsibilities, duties
With no time to enjoy
And acquiring the life skills
Was Climbing the Infinite sky
So vast and wide,
And the shore of this ocean
Was the life's partner 'Death'
Who would take us all away
None of us would remain
Few of keepsakes maintained
Only the white clouds
Of varied shapes
In the azure sky
Would stay
Watching the things happened
Watching things happening
Watching that will happen.

I'm but a mere humble soldier
my heart is tied to my motherland
I fight for freedom whilst I forfeit my life
as I run upon the field of death

I do not stand alone in the smog
I do not run against my fate
for the angels guide me
I fight for my honor to which i am unworthy

I do not walk unknowingly
the all this risks I understand
for the lord ventures with me,
each and every day

If the day comes that I fall
I surrender my soul to his warm embrace
remember me not just by name
but the deeds I've done and the sacrifice I gave

I'm a soldier first and foremost
A son of the nation I was born
A friend to all peoples
A comrade of peace and order
A brother to my fellow servicemen
A fierce and honorable warrior
and a servant till the end of my breath
and of my beating heart

Dear Good Sir,

I am quite tolerant of your vainful antics and acts
Yet as your dearest friend i advise and implore you
To state the fact and only the matter of the truth
On your hubris arrogance and shallow attacks
Reflect on your words before our paths intertwine
And before i lose my patience and draw the line
Take caution in your next steps you might take
As your friend know our companionship is at stake
Yet if you remain relentlessly stubborn as ever
You know my grievances and as well as my answer
I wish for none of this yet you force my blade
For my honor your life or mine i shall trade

Your humble colleague,

Run to see the ocean wind,
To see the timeless quality

And whispered so:

War does not determine who is right... only who is left

War is a deep whole of despair
Trying to find the answer
Of what's right and wrong
But when nothing is right
Then what is left.

Where should I go
To the right where nothing is left
To the left where nothing is right
Up where everything Is down
Or down where everything is up

If there is nothing left to the right
Then it would be pointless going there
Go left, fight to make things right

To the middle,
To save what is left
And to judge what is right

If the reason why I fight is behind me, I go forward to protect it

If the reason why I fight is in front of me,
I rush forward to save it

Walk backwards so you can see
What we have loved won and lost

Forward into the horizon
Where there is still hope of a better future

Close your eyes. Embrace that moment,
And dissolve into everything at once.
Be in all directions at once

Become part of all that is up down left right.
Around front behind above and below
Flow in and out and through it all
Only then can we find peace

But we are all just stuck in one circle
So choose whether to go to any direction
If it’s up or down left or right
It doesn't even matter does it?

In the end were just going the same way... Don't we?
In a mad world with endless and pointless roads ahead

What if that night was the last chance
Now depressed you wish "you took his offer to dance"

Because life is unpredictable and nothing is true
But when it's your time you can't avoid when you're due
But don't be afraid every day is your last.

How they ran away in fright
From a monster with flared claws
Fueled by rage and spite
Devouring what it could maw

Them and me
Them and me
A match in heaven
Made to be

They ran and hid
A monster I was depicted
Which left me livid
Of the pain they had inflicted

They sit, crouched in fear
Praying for their lives
Yet a monster is here
Armed with knives

The air grows red
Screams soar through the sky
People have bled
Oblivious of their own demise

Now I sit in an empty room
Remembering and reminiscing
The air wails with gloom
The lives perished I keep dismissing

Be silent, little children
For though you may be cold
And though you all may die
Do not fear, the end is near
Be happy the pain will fade,
Rest young one, Do not cry!

Disease that linger carried,
The death of a young child,
The death of a mother,
The place was quiet

Frozen are the remains that lay
Shattered broken mangled
Twisted limbs among the floor
As the rain falls over the them
The streets were left bare
The shops were cleared
The pestilence that shifts
By all that croaked or sneezed
Spreading like a gust of fire

There's a fairy girl that never lets you cry
Instead she holds your tears to dry
So hold on, dear, and never let go

Explore with my loyal pet, a mystical wolf
That I met one summer's day, sitting 'lone on the loft
And stand mighty upon this hundreds of tales, never forget them

I imagine the thoughts of death so much
It feels as though they were of a distant memory
Fiddling with my past glory leaving behind my legacy
Impulsively charging to the end upholding my chivalry
A visionary dying for a dream that was revolutionary
I was dying for greatness, dying to be part of history
Now that I lay dying I forgot how to truly live in own my stories
the sun has risen and cleared the mist morning has begun
flames upon candles flicker out and I too shall soon be gone
The world was my garden it was wide enough for me
I have sown the seeds of my limits and that of my victories
I have written songs to be sang to the nation I was born to revelry
Blood I have offered and shed yet never to hear such sweet symphonies
with a burning bleeding desire I threw myself pursuit
Laying a strong foundation enough to pass it on to you
Yet I was always occupied fearing the loss of time
I ask if I have I spent them well and wise, haven’t I?
I was too young and blind to see those I love had put aside
I would've known better than to think nothing of my honor and pride
Now I shall be buried deep in the past of yesteryear's antiquity
I see glimpses of my comrades waving and waiting on the other side
Calling me to join the tranquil paradise waiting to be reunified
I ask how to say good-bye take your time they calmly replied
We are all waiting no need to haste as they stand jovially reside
Memories of our youths that once chant and drank to good health and liberty
I raise my arms and cry out to freedoms grand infinity
I hear ringing of bells it golden melody melts
I am fated to fade away as snow is to spring
My time is up death is calling me to rise up to its cold embrace
Eager to guide and cross the line to which I am still anxiously afraid
Am I a hero or a villain? Am I a slave or a freeman?
Have I risen above as of both sinner and saint?
I am but a man filled with mistakes and talents to show
How will you remember me or would you forget me so
The seeds I planted I shall never see them blossom and grow
This shall be my testament my gravestone that I have sown
and to those who still breathe my name
keep that of my memory me embers a flame
I have fired my shot I have aimed it above the heavens high
its gunfire echoes loud so all may hear I have taken and did my time
I wish I could have done even more but I know you could do better
