I dine on wildflowers
Down by the sea
I slurp down sunshine
How it tickles me
Melodic come hithers
Whispered on the breeze
It's times just like this
That invoke Calliope

Gobble me down
Gobble me down
Grap your lips around
All of me

Gobble me down
Gobble me down
Until I am bound
For eternity

Gobble me down
Gobble me down
Please let me drown
While you chew

Gobble me down
Gobble me down
Let me be found
Inside of you

Floating on the breeze
One went off in to the trees
One went high up in the sky
And the last one popped
Right in my eye

When I'm lost I am found
The rhythm is the only sound

So far in, I'm beyond
Take my hand, let's abscond
Heartbeat meter correspond

Syntax builds the fragile frame,
A structure bound by rules and name.
Each line, each mar, a puzzle piece,
The form that brings our thoughts release.

Semantics, though, is where it lives,
The meaning that the order gives.
A word alone, a line of code,
Means nothing till its truth is showed.

Syntax lays the path we tread,
The map of where our thoughts are lead.
But meaning waits beneath the lines,
In symbols, shapes, and quiet signs.

Without the rules, we’d lose our way.
But without meaning, there’s no say.
So  syntax shapes, semantics breathes,
Together, language weaves and weaves.

I should start carrying fruit in my purse
First I should get a purse
After putting in string lights and wine
I need to add fruit
So anytime I feel like I’m going to
Put my foot in my mouth
I’ll eat the fruit instead
Giving me time to ruminate
While I masticate
Silencing my tongues need
To move without thought

A tree roach I did spy
It looked me right in the eye
I got my shoe in hand to try
But did not know they fly

I did not have a clue
Of what next I should do
I climbed the couch for a view
And next I threw my shoe
unfinished

From the shadows of the trees
Luring in the wildlife
To do with as she please
As they come in closer
She readies for the pounce
Scanning for the strongest
As her hunger mounts

I know you’ve heard tales
Of the Tattle-Tale bird
Whispering to others
All that he’s heard

He tells on your sisters
He tells on your brothers
He loves to tell all
Especially to mothers

With small shifty eyes
And a voice oh so quiet
He eagerly thrives
On starting a riot

No secrets to tell
Not when he’s near
For you can be sure
Your name he will smear

But if you can catch him
I’ll tell you right now
He tastes so much better
Than a fat grass fed cow

Cook him in the over
Or over a fire
‘Cause that’s what you do
WIth Tattle-Tale flyers

Lincoln Town and Country
There are things I must tell bluntly
I hope you don't feel shame
for being pretty lame
and making me waste money

When I saw you in the lot
I was already quite distraught
because my precious prelude
had tires that were all *******
something new needed bought

It seemed like quite the flip
To be able to take my trip
A three hour jaunt
seemed so nonchalant
until you started to slip

Your transmission seized up first
a hefty 4,000 dollar thirst
Only one month in
the worlds smallest violin
started to hint at your curse

Next came the back gate
hydraulic arm truncate
one more thing that's broken
making it impossible to stay open
why won't you cooperate?

The sliding door fell off next
your parts are all quite hexed
rocking on the ground
oh how you astound
my emotions which are vexed

Windows?! who needs these?
obviously not me
at least your air still works
I'll count it as a perk
Since I can't feel the breeze

Then it was slated
to keep us dehydrated
after your air went on the fritz
sparkling sweaty glitz
leaving us saturated

More problems you did score
making driving a big chore
pretty soon we were left
feeling strong bereft
with just one working door

I set to the task at hand
and devised a simple plan
placing online ads
to other car comrades
and traded you for a conversion van

Some days I don’t want to crawl out the tub
Just be in the water and feel it’s warm hug
Every spasm and pinch felt to my core
If only I could get up off of this floor
I clench and I muster to get in to the bath
Sliding in to peaceful moments at last
For instance today the waters real hot
I’ve settled right in the perfect spot
And let my whole body relax into breath
While trying not to think of my death
Or all of the ways I’d like to cut out this pain
There’s no one to fault, no one to blame
It is what it is nothing more, nothing less
A creeping and crawling under my flesh
Work in progress. I’m struggling today

My left eye sees the honest things
A puddle, sky, a skipping stone
It watches birds with steady wings
And knows which socks are not my own

It can spot a single tear
It sees the cracks behind a smile
It knows what’s honest, sharp, and clear
It watches quiet all the while

My right eye is full of play
It sees a dragon in a tree
It turns a puddle into a bay
And swears that squirrels drink cups of tea

It just loves to tell tall tales
It sees a boat where there’s a shoe
It sees dancing trees and talking snails
And paints the sky a deeper blue

One eye will whisper, “That is so.”
It points to facts and steady ground
The other shouts, “A UFO!”
Whenever leaves go swirling ’round

Together, though, they share my face
And show a world both strange and true
Where clocks might melt and flowers race
But love still fits in every view

Together they both guide my heart
One by the truth, one by surprise
Between the lines of what’s been said
I see the world with twin-born eyes
I have been working on this write over 2 years and it still is not perfect to me but posting anyway to let it go and then perhaps it will spark later and be finished correctly.

I wanted to work with the concept of someone whos left eye sees only truth and their right eye sees only lies.

The day comes but once a year
For pranksters, jokers and the fools
To bring a twisted kind of cheer
By breaking all the rules

Doughnuts filled with mayo
Is just one of many things
With googly-eyed potatoes
Hiding in the wings

Masquerading caramel onions
And toothpaste oreos
Fun with food corruptions
Are there for your dispose

Mento ice-cube bombs for soda
Clear nail polish painted soap
Anecdotal numbered quotas
A high jinks kaleidoscope

Pranks and hoaxes they like to play
On unsuspecting fellows
Deeming themselves as attache's
To the 'April Fools' bellows

The intangible danceable
Felt but not seen
Frolicking on the edge
Of spaces in between

Peek-a-boo shadows
Spider-web touches
Goosebumped skin
Rosy red blushes

Whispers on wind
Soul unconfined
The curve of the smile
Fits the curve of my mind

A half told anecdote
Unnoticed excellence in the mundane
Quiet anticipation
Jolting epiphanies of keyframe

Emotional nutrients of xeno
Ecstatic shock and sonder
Ambedo and nodus tollens
Forever I wonder and wander

In a quiet bowl, a tale began,
Of a fish with tricks that fooled each man.
A beta fish with colors bold,
But Liarfish, as he’d be told.

He’d float belly-up, still as stone,
As if his soul had swiftly flown.
Panicked eyes would widen, stare—
“Is Liarfish no longer there?”

But with a sudden, secret glee,
He’d flick his fins and swim carefree.
Laughing bubbles on his way,
Another prank to start the day.

“Oh, Liarfish!” the people cried,
“You got us good—oh, how you lied!”
And so his name began to grow,
A symbol of a tricky show.

From village streets to busy towns,
His tale spread far, it gained renown.
And when someone would stretch the truth,
Liarfish’s name would slip out smooth.

“Caught in a lie!” the people say,
“That’s Liarfish at work today!”
A wink, a grin, a knowing smile—
They’d call out tricks from many a mile.

Now Liarfish is legend, grand,
A playful prank passed hand to hand.
His name still floats on whispered lips,
When truth and lies make clever flips.

So if you hear a tale askew,
Remember Liarfish, swift and true—
For in his playful, tricky art,
He’s the master of a lying heart.
This is based on a real fish that for whatever reason loved to play dead. So many times thinking this time he is truly gone, only to go scoop him up and have him flip over and swim away. Any time thereafter when I catch people fibbing I simply point and say Liarfish.

I was sent on the most urgent mission to rescue the tea!

It was the most dire of situations. The package of tea, having finally arrived after a very long journey from overseas, sat defenseless on the porch. It rested peacefully, waiting for the eager owner to run forth with open arms, tears streaming, and proclaiming such holy gratitude that all of the church doves in all of the world flutter in to flight the moment her heart rings like a bell at seeing said package.

And as it rested peacefully the most ominous form loomed on the horizon. A sight more terrifying than babies eating pickles and bears with no hair. The darkest, most heavies, most deep blue clouds were building ever bigger, and coming ever closer. So pregnant with rain that at any moment that saddest shade of blue was going to color the very town the package was waiting in and color the heart of the owner, that very same shade, unless I could possibly make it in time.

The story of the mission itself and the actual said rescue of the tea is entirely another story which just so happens to be titled "I was somewhere else, but I wasn't, but I was" which is part of the continuing chronicles: The Misguided Adventure of Stumblebum Fumbletongue. Out on sale next yesterday.

I long for the animal you hide
Won't you come out to play?
You won't know unless you've tried
This space is safe, promise it's okay

I am going to leave my mark
One way or another
Raw untamed fervid spark
It is you I am going to smother

Let the voracious hunger mount
Escalating each minute
Primal breathlessness paramount
You are your own limit

I'm not going to make love to you
I utter rather sweetly
Neither am I going to *******
But own you...... completely

I want to tear you apart
Don't make any sudden moves
Pulsating beat of your heart
Every inch of me approves

I want to forget my own name
While I'm busy moaning yours
I promise to start quite tame
Until you are out of your drawers

My body I do herby bestow
Let me show you how
I whisper in your ear and let you know
The time is Now

The Lion

She eats the men lured to her lair and sends the bones to Hades. In the dark I pounce back and wrap my hands about her throat, white knuckled grasp until the last gasp of life leaves her like a candle blown out.  I skin her with her own claw. Her fur now mine.

The Hydra

Golden sword, face wrapped with cloth. A beast raised just for my demise. One immortal head among many, like a house of mirrors. Chop one head and two return. Seemed impossible until my blade covered in poisonous blood scorches the stumps of decapitation. Two new constellations branded in the sky as proof of my deeds.

The Hind

Faster than an arrow in flight, the sacred animal was just out of reach. I pursued on foot for over a year, through four different kingdoms. I trapped it while it slept allowing me to capture it without desecration. The King demanded to keep it. Slow kingly hands enabled it's freedom, once again bounding away.

The Boar

Commanded to catch the beast alive I sought advice from Centaurs. They told me how then got very drunk and attacked me. They can't handle their wine. I shot them with arrows covered in poison from the Hydra. The boar was easier. Drove him into thick snow and delivered him to the cowering King Eurystheus.

The Stables

King Augeas wanted to humiliate me and so tasked me with cleaning out his stables. Immortal animals make an enormous quantity of dung by the way.  They had not been cleaned for 30 years and housed 1,000 cattle so I re-routed the rivers Alpheus and Peneus to wash out the filth.  They cried party foul.

The Birds

Ares, the God of war had sacred man eating birds with beaks of bronze and metallic feathers that they could launch like darts at their victims. Did I forget to mention highly toxic dung? A simple rattle scared them to flight and I easily dispatched them with more arrows. Didn't even break a sweat.

The Bull

I was Beseeched by King Minos to sail to Crete and catch a bull of ill repute that has been causing havoc in the orchards. I snuk up behind the beast and throttled it with my hands, stopping before it was killed and then shipped it back to Tiryns to be sacrificed later to Athena.

The Mares

I have been sent to steal the mares Podargos, Lampon, Xanthos, and Deinos, who are raised on a very unnatural diet of human flesh, fed to them by their owner. They are madness itself. He pursued me, we fought, I won. After getting the mares corralled I fed them their owner which permanently calmed them.

The Belt

Admete wants the Queen of the Amazons belt. I have been ordered to retrieve it. Hera however had other plans, disguising herself and walking among the Amazons she began sowing seeds of distrust. One giant misunderstanding later left the Queen slain by my hand. Should never have happened, but I did get the belt. sigh

The Cattle

A golden chariot carried me to the cattle who were guarded by Geryon. He charged me carrying three shields, three spears, and wearing three helmets. My arrow pierced his forehead and bent his neck over to one side, like a poppy that spoils its delicate shapes, shedding its petals all at once. Cattle successfully retrieved.

The Apples

Caught shape shifting sea God to find the Garden. Agreed to hold the Heavens for Atlas while he got me the apples. He wouldn't take the heavens back so I asked him to temporarily relieve me to adjust my cloak. Atlas agreed and resumed holding up the heavens. I reneged, walked away with the apples.

Cerberus

Struck deal with Hades. I could take Cerberus to the surface if I didn't use any weapons. Used my hands. Eurystheus was terrified of him, begged me to take him back to the underworld offering to release me from any further labours. I am now free from the king. Think I'll ride with the Argonauts.

On a foggy dawn, as the socks were drawn,
The toes prepared for battle.
The pinky declared, with lint in his hair,
“We’ll rattle those phalanges’ cattle!”

Big Toe led the charge with mighty arch,
And Second Toe braced his shield.
They clashed in glee on the knobby sea
Of the wrinkly battlefield.

The bunions bellowed, the corns would cry,
While calluses thickened their skins,
And nails like blades in jagged shades
Clattered with fearsome grins.

Then Little Piggy, with shrill wee-wee,
Let loose a mighty squeal:
“I’ve had enough, your stench is rough-
Our truce, let’s make it real!”

So Big Toe sighed and put down his pride,
And Second Toe did too.
The toes all hugged (though they all still bugged),
As feet so often do.

And thus it went, till the socks were spent,
And shoes enclosed their truce.
No more they’d fight in the stinky night-
They’d save it for when they’re loose.
I really hate socks and shoes to be honest. I am a barefoot girl anytime I can. Just a silly poem because I can

They are probably tired of

When it ended, I cried for us,
For the love we built on fragile trust.
The dreams we shared, the moments few,
I wept for all we couldn’t do.

I cried for late-night whispered vows,
For futures lost, for broken now.
For every kiss, for every laugh,
For what we had but couldn’t last.

You cried for you, your own despair,
For burdens that were hard to bear.
Your tears fell down, not for our we,
But for the things you couldn’t see.

Two rivers flowed but never met,
One full of hope, one of regret.
