passerby
might not dismiss
the noise
as a weird animal

inky sunsets
and a sun so high
girls that fly
and a  tense goodbye
unfulfilled promises
dreams let down
waves on the shore
souls that feel sore
pain in your heart
a struggle to part
I know the words
that make a poem
go high
just can’t write them
tonight
it would probably make
me cry.

Hmmmmm........see. .....here’s the thing
I’m not sure I  am the one you should be crying for
I think others might deserve it more
It’s not that I don’t like the attention
You know I do
Maybe a bit too much
But even I
have to admit
There are a lot more people out there

Two beautiful blond children
each on either side

I wanted to jump off

My brother got the brains
my sister got them too
so I decided
I would learn to dance
and I haven’t stopped
ever,

about the money

I dance every night
in vain

my limbs ?
take them if you will
but know then

this dance
has not been easy
you are heavy
on your feet
and I
too light sometimes
and yet

this awkward dance

again
and still more.
