Evergreen Boon (Ghazal Poem)
in the ambrosia of love, we'll ever combine
our melding shall sing, of an adoring boon

our endearing hearts, beating as one forever
streams of elation, speaking of this love boon

e'er embracing tightly, neath the stellar plains
that sparkling spangle, such a heavenly boon

ever we'll journey, the beloved road of sharing
honey syrup binding us, with a sublime boon

the cup of lasting love, brimming in rapture
twill be so superb, our lush evergreen boon

Seeds Of Love
as we're planting the seeds of love
we'll harvest a bounty
ah how rich it will be
reaping love's field of plenty

our seeds will be
in a well furrowed patch
so our juices of love
will finely hatch

sowing the seeds of love
a surplus we'll fetch
there will be a booming bonus
in our love ketch

the time is ripe
for our sowing
to begin
our seeds of love
are in the touch
of our skin

seeds
of
love
prospering
seeds
of
love
we'll
be
fostering

in our bed
a harvest
shall grow
as we plant
the seeds of love
in a fruitful row

Marshmallow Centered Shorten
the girlie man of Australian politics
had the term coined just for him
the tough man Arnie Schwarzenegger
from California was thinking of him

Bill Shorten is a *****
when it comes to fiscal matters
that's why his statements
on the budget are all in tatters

soft approaches toward
spending will never do
the nation's finances are in need
of a tightening *****

the treasury office stats
don't mislead of go awry
a salient tale they tell
about a well running dry

there are no Jesus Christ figures
in Canberra to divide the loaves and fishes
a certain amount is in the nation's war chest
which must fulfill the people's many wishes

the Shorten alternative economic policy
has great sieve holes in it
the nation's well being under it
would be rendered unfit

at the end of the day
the taxpayer always pays
so the ledger should be in balance
without any stalling delays

fiscal responsibility
is good for a nation's health
marshmallow centered Shorten
has no interest in stock piling our wealth

Magically
between a man and a woman
there is a magic
it envelopes them in a thing
called love

since the dawning of time
this magic has had a hold
that seals two hearts
in a cogent fold

formidable
is this attraction
which has a real close
interaction

that love magic
grips
so tight
that love magic
is a true
delight

the magic of love
swirls around
in the atmosphere
with a strong spell
that catches two souls
in its sphere

the thrall of love
is an engaging mystery
that fascinates
so magically

Vagabond Expression
metaphor oh metaphor
where are you
metaphor oh metaphor
I can't find you
metaphor oh metaphor
you vagabond figure of speech
metaphor oh metaphor
why are you out of reach

despairing is my pen
without you pouring from its nib
you've taken leave
not thinking of the writing crib

a return of yourself
will be greeted with much mirth
your absence hath wrought
such an unhappy dearth

metaphor oh metaphor
the skies shall ne'er be sun filled again
now that you've sauntered off
all my scribing days are dull with rain

metaphor oh metaphor
I eagerly implore you
to not keep me waiting
on an expression from you

Braided Binding
we're in a circle of love
a complete ring
our togetherness
is such a beautiful thing

we're in a union
a compact
our love
is sound and intact

we're in an accord
which does adhere
our feelings for each other
always endear

the songs of love
were written
especially
for
you and I
they'll ever be sung
with
a lasting tie

love shall e'er
be ours to share
for we make
such a snug pair

as the days and nights
of sweet love ensue
an endearing fondness
shall embrace
we two

love
an eternal circle
love an eternal
ring
holding
with
a
braided
binding
Grasping for a thread back to normal mode
Yesterday's trauma struck and did implode
The mind lies in state of befuddlement
Everything is changed it isn't the same
Regaining past composure no easy frame
Reflections of loss bring a blurred haze
It takes time to walk out of the maze
Comfort is found in friend's kind easement
Our souls and hearts are feeling all adrift
We question why do the sands always shift
When the departed leave our loving care
There is a desolate space left behind
Which confuses and injures the mind
Seasons of solace shall grant us repair

A Bit On The Side
she couldn't be satiated
she had a huge appetite
she went out and got herself
a bit on the side

the pickings at home
didn't quite measure up
she wanted more
to fill her cup

a bit on the side
she went out and got
cause what she had
didn't hit the spot

she wasn't going to do without
that's why she flaunted
her wares about

she painted her lips
she put on a little black dress
those finishing touches
made a big difference

out on the town
she did her cruising
like a prowling
kitty cat

in another saddle
she rode high
cause this guy
could make her
moan and sigh

she wasn't going to settle
for no lean deal
she wanted to taste
a more beneficial meal

a bit on the side

Realtor
a real estate agent
is the person to talk to
if you want a house
with a nice ocean view

listings of these kind
of properties are rare
there's not many on the market
which isn't very fair

residing on the scenic
North Carolina coastline
would most definitely
be ever so divine

as the sun rises
I'd look out over the bay
to catch a glimpse
of the yachts sailing away

upon my two storey deck
I'd read a book
whilst partaking of a serving
of salad and roasted chook

I'll be on the phone
to the realtor this afternoon
so he can line up a sale
for me pretty soon

near the seaside
is where I want to nest
living in a bush locale
isn't all the best

to smell the sea breeze
wafting o'er my yard
that would be a fabulous
tip top draw card

where the brine rushes
into the sandy shore
I'd so love to be situated
there forevermore

my pots and pans are packed
and ready to go
I'm just waiting to hear
from the realtor Mr Row

Pioneer's Rainbow Wish
the old timers in Virgina
couldn't cross that steep ravine
so they designed a span
to bridge the ravine

the spruce timbers which grew
on either side of the ravine's face
made it difficult for the workers
to put the girders into place

over a period of years they
constructed a fine steel span
which was akin to
a rainbow's open fan

the territory could then
be traversed from side to side
the ravine's sheer cutting
wouldn't hamper the old timer's stride

these days in Virgina
in that precipitous gorge country
folks can see their forebears
bridge building ingenuity

the dream of a ravine crossing
came into view
as the pioneer's rainbow wish
did come true

After Yesterday
parades and fun times
the carnival of lights
spectacular the festivities
everyone engrossed by the sights and sounds
cheering
clapping
the rowdy crowd
lapping up the atmosphere
a celebration

the day after
spoiled
besmirched in tones of dolefulness
the people
heavy of shoulder
the weight appropriated
in tears manifold
and event can turn
quickly
into sad seas
of sorrow

television stations
radio air waves
transmitted
the horrific news
a terrorist cell had struck
in a city locale
fragments of body parts spread on the sidewalk
smoke and the smell of wickedness
did pervade
the street scape

after yesterday's festival
New York's collective psychology
did alter suddenly
the change did come
in terrors
inglorious
atrocity

the chap whose name is beside
is endlessly having look

yet he's not communicated
or had a wee chat
he may well prefer
his non conversant hat

others with green dots
are seeking to speak to me
they seem to hanker
for my verbal spree

that fellow can talk to me
whenever he doth wish
he's most welcome
to give his tongue a swish

I'll be online for an hour
or maybe five
so my time will be available
to chat with him live

The Fire's Brand
the countryside is covered
in a blanket if smoke
bush fires are burning
in and around the Rhynie spoke

some thirty thousand hectares
of land have been fried
farms and parts of the National Park
burnt from side to side

the fire authorities are working
by day and by night
to encircle the flames
which so searingly bite

slowly they are winning
the protracted war against the flares
their fire fighting equipment
stifling the inferno's nightmare

in a few days the fire
shall be extinguished and put out
then the countryside wont be covered
in the smoke's thick tout

the air will be as clear as a bell
and less haziness will stand
as the ashes of the bush fire
shall bear testament to the fire's brand

with a quenching drink
quelling the thirst of its
dry unfilled sink

soils bereft of dampness
for such a long time
jubilantly hearing the sounds
of a saturating rhyme

Verse 1

on the stock market floor lay losses galore
and in time they'd be redeemed
a price collapse saw the upward trend end
it would be a long haul pulling it out of the pall
ooh, ooh and in time they'd be redeemed
busted at the seams were all the investment schemes
putting paid to fortune's prosperity
the dream run had less future's equity
New York's exchange took a hammering

Chorus

ooh, troubled was the trading
ooh, troubled was the trading

Verse 2

as we watched the steep downward slide
the money men didn't feel like smiling
a wrecking bear had hit finances in the kitty
shocking became the fiscal outlook

Chorus

ooh, troubled was the trading
ooh, troubled was the trading

Verse 3

and the homeless dwellers in the slums
look in bins for something to eat
and they've no dosh to buy a passage out
and this is their unfair place in society
once the cream could be skimmed
yet nothing is left but life's grieving
on and on the losing streak goes
there's always a cycle of poverty
and troubled was the trading
resigned to fate's course of lows
the market floor held in distress
gloom beset the bright lights in dull tones
your redeeming breath can be inhaled
an injection of capital will aid
ghetto dwellers all in want
wealth is but for the few
monied folk posses the long bond
forgotten all the people in need
values riding on a share price
who is listening to the tune
it tells of crash and of boom
this we all know too well

Outro

and in time they'd be redeemed
In heaven's glorious sphere angels sing
A refrain of greeting and welcoming
The many departed souls did again lift
As they looked upon God's loving face
Existence in this place is such a grace
No more to be their abode the earth's globe
God's kingdom twill be an eternal lobe
Beauteous and harmonic strains did drift
In heaven's majestic house high above
All the people there are shown infinite love
They've died and are in another domain
God embraces everyone at his door
His serene home is theirs forevermore
As the angels chorus in bright refrain
