Godspeed.
Egle Apr 28
You saw me as broken.
Outsider. Alone.
You came and you spoke:
"I'm here. And I know".

You gave me a hope
That life was worthwhile.
The bridge that you built,
I entered. Unarmed.

You stabbed where it hurt
And didn't tell why.
And then just burned it
While I was still on it.

You won't see me fall.
I'm used to the storms.
Used to the darkness
And walking alone.

And at the end
Of your play pretend
It's me who was real
And you've lost it.
Godspeed.

A Silent Warning
Egle Apr 12
The stars shine loud tonight.
They’re carving their invite
On surface of the lake.

Don’t follow. Ice will break.
You’ll fall and get trapped in.

Cause this is where I live—
Where time is standing still,
And noises disappear.

The truth is hard to bear.
A storm that’s locked within.
I watch. I am awake.

Don’t follow. Ice will break.
You’ll fall and get trapped in.

The Passenger
Egle Apr 10
My feet move forward
in soldier-like pace,
drawn into a war—
no room to retrace.

Youth in my chest,
bland orders in hand.
and still my gaze stray;
I’ve never found rest.

I hopped on the train,
I’m here on your track.

Got windows to watch
the days rushing by—
an echo of life,
a life that’s not mine.
