Mary Bennet
She was doing
intricate footwork on her figure
skates behind bars.

Her whole
audience had their
eyes closed.

She conducted their
hearts with her hands.

Her hair flew
like music notes as
she did an axel.

Her figure skates
were like violins.

Her blades were
like the bow.

A lullaby sleep
walked on her tongue.

Her layback spin
was like a tuba scratching
roses into the ice.

Her spiral sailed
through the rink
like a guitar.

She gave you
a feeling like her program
was never ending.

Where did you go?
I have been missing you. You know?
What happened to you? Did life destroy you that bad?
Remember when we would dance in our room and dream of growing up.
I wish somebody would have told us that the future would hurt.
Remember those endless playdates with your friends everyday afterschool?
When homework wasn’t a thing.
When boys didn't matter that much.
When we didn't care what people said about us.
When were free and life was so easy.
But after all we wanted to grow up. We dreamed of it.
And,well, here we are. I miss you. You were good to me.
I do have question for you. Was I always so sad?
Would mean a lot if you could let me know.

XOXO

Older you ;)

Today is World Health Day
It is an opportunity to appreciate
"The role of nurses and midwives
in saving world from corona threat"
They are doing untiringly long
duties without proper rest
Saving the world without
the fear of self infection
Let us applaud their valuable
role with two words of respect
The 7th April is the World Heath Day.

Grief in Pink

Longer sleepless evenings
Humid, dark, and bleak
Serene and sorrowful homes
Blossoming sakura trees weep
With heavyhearted lonely buds
Spring, unforgettable saddest spring
Trees not lovelier and so are fields
Nor the day more delightful than the evening
These unhappy blooms in pink
Signal a different kind of grief
Sakura  (cherry blossoms) are constantly cited as the most recognizable sign of spring in Japan. When trees all over the country burst into breathtakingly beautiful clusters of pink flowers right about the time it gets warm enough, people  yearly go outside to enjoy. Blooming of the sakura is a beautiful  gift from mother nature, hanami (sakura viewing) is done by many people in spring.  But due to COVID-19 pandemic, parks right now are being closed to avoid more transmission of SARSCoV2.
