When we all see
That when they said
It takes a village
It was meant
Literally
The rich people feed

each other, so the hungry --

have to do the same.
Bertolt Brecht, quoted in the poem "Die hiefel en die fiefel" ("Ole and Axel", 2006, Antjie Krog)

Collection "Wean Di"
Life whispers through cracks
in our certainties—
a trickster breaching walls
we mistake for shelter.

Dogma: anchors in shifting tides.
The wise sailor knows when
to cut the line.
Be open minded
Homeward-bound-
how exhilarating
if on your shelf
good books are found!

Purple with pink bands streak across the sky

The purple has a hint of gray
It looks like a Monet painting which sets the stage for the coming night

The streaks in the sky create a look that is almost unreal in its beauty

Nature is an absolute artist second to none
sacrifice and greediness
still walking
together
until
it loves it
so
it becomes it's heart.
Another six months
Another year
I’m almost thirty
And then I’ll be practically forty
Please, I miss you
It’s not always bright
there can be darkness
but it’s got a bit of sentimental value to it there’s joy to be caught
even in small amounts
For my Queen of Purple
Anything.
Anything at all.
I just want to end up with her.
I know her secrets, her issues, all the problems she thinks she has and knows she has.
I just see beauty in it.
I see beauty in her.
Beauty in her.
Her
Beauty
