Navigating mercy

An asylum harbor from afar

Here, in the gloaming of your closed
notebooks

A faint-hearted horizon

And the wide beam sea

Two days out from despair

The written word will capsize
you, Anne

God is in your typewriter
and where the boats so often go
Anne Sexton (November 9, 1928 – October 4, 1974)
They told me that it's all in my head
And they were right
It is all in my head...
And my heart
And my veins,
It's in my stomach
My arms and my legs
It's immobilizing my muscles
And deteriorating my skin
So yes- they were right
But they left a few things out
Not only is it in my head
It's now completely taken over every single part
That makes me
Me

This is Depression
A poem falls short; I'd like, instead
to draw a single line from me to you
and watch it curl into a word
so beautiful it's still unsaid –
or press paper to the window pane
so that the day might saturate
a note that brightly warms your hands,
spills birdsong from imagined trees
and buzzes like fat bumblebees,
but I am bound by language, love; I can't.

You said you want to see this soul
I said
Open your eyes,
Love...
Turn out the lights
And hold on
Until eternity
Bends unending
Above,
Just don't let go
No,
Of this hold
And if you do
Close your eyes
Take in this breath
In all of me
There was never
Anything to fear
No,
Here in the dark
Just don't let go
Share your light
For eternity and then some more
An endless kind
It's what everyone wants
To find
In the daylight or night
Close your eyes
See me
Seeing you
Hold on until
Eternity
Can you hear
Your echo there
Where statues and stones
Remain still
Your voice is now
An echo
In their halls

It's so dark tonight.
Turn your light on,
Alright.
I can see it shining
All the way
On the other side.
It's so bright.
When this life,
Is over
All that was once
Together,
Will reunite again
In Quantum
Entanglement.

Come back now...
Come down
To Earth,
Somehow.

One day,
When this
Is all over
You'll find
Your way
Back
To where
You want
To go...

Just look up
For now
And listen
Closely
Only to
Be led
Back to
What
Was
Lost
Or never
Was.
by brightness
you are my second sun
though your gravity is such
you are
my only one
