Empty and Cold

My body's warmth has been ****** up
I'm left with nothing but emptiness and sadness
My eyes are moist and need to leak
But not here in this room full of judgemental eyes
I wish I could just run out and cry my fears out
Every thought in my head stabs my heart
I can't stop but press on until I'm bleeding
No one will ever hear my quiet sobs nor care
I'll just sit here in this lonely corner
And let my eyes release my pain
The day  has now gone here is the night
It's twelve o'clock all lights gone out
Not a single soul no one insight
We look out the window no one about.

Eyes are weary we are fighting sleep
Time to clime up that wooden hill
Waiting for us is the bed and sheets
Tired and drowsy sleep we will.

The evenings are colder
The frost here again
But we are much older
And our health's not the same

So as we head to that slumber land
And we dream our cares away
We pull up the blankets with our hands
And say goodnight to the day.
These cold nights a nice warm bed is welcoming.

I tried to stay strong and whole
But I can't help but break down
I've been overwhelmed with emotions
I want to stay calm but I'm about to explode
I just want my neck to be severed
As my body is wrapped in barbed wires
Pain is the only thing on my mind
And I want it like I need it

While fiction is safer

Reality's much stranger.

(There may be a lie to suit your every need

But there's always a truth that would set you free.)

Stories will make you

Your own safe haven

In the arms of imagination.

(You might miss the path the present lights

Towards your destination.)

Living a life fueled by love

Wouldn't be worth a thing

If you didn't have a heart.

(But isn't your brain

An issue more pressing

When it's what's kept it beating

From the start?)

A lifetime is but

Some boring tale

If you don't aim for the stars

Leaning over the rails.

(But what if you fall

To your untimely death?

Are risks truly worth it

When there's so much time left?)

Live your life

Running fast

Drive your destiny

Foot pressed to the gas.

(Listen to your intuition

Never roam

Where your soul feels safe

Is where you should feel at home.)

Jump from the nest

Fly your own jet

Make each brand new day

One you'll never forget.

(Don't spend your days in a haste

Not one moment's a waste.

Keep your time moving slow

Who knows what could change tomorrow?)

Dance when with the ones you love

Sing a melody when alone.

Embark on new adventures

Accept the unknown.

(Give a smile to your lover

An embrace to your mother

Try to never end your day

Feeling bereft.)

At the end of the day

Know that none of these choices

Are limited by right and wrong.

(They only ask you

To turn right or left.)
