The cacophony of hatred,
These words, not sacred,
They fill me with loathing,
My memories not holding,
All this positivity.
It slips; away from me.

I can not, I will not,
Be a puppet to your thought,
That somehow my voice
Should not rejoice,
The rope around what I choose,
Will be a guide, not a noose.

You need to know I love me,
I love everything I see.
I love my heart; my heartbeat,
My toes, on my feet,
I love my rainbow-coloured soul,
Everything that makes me whole.
I’m here; I’m queer,
And I will NOT disappear,

At least not due to fear.
Today I was quite offended to hear some homophobic slur thrown at me which is where the inspiration for this came from almost as a fightback towards homophobes and everyone who discriminates to show that we will not be silenced and we will still love ourselves and the pride we feel.

why,

why does life come in waves?

it’s either the white sea foam,

salty, bubbles, calm

or

the tsunami,

flooding, crashing, drowning.

Some days I'm the dragon,
Others I'm the knight.
But most days I'm the peasant girl in the darkness searching for light.

at times, my heart asks
why can one hate so many?
and who made this rule
that we may love only one?

hearts filled with love
are a rightly worthwhile goal
but actually: love only one,
fall in love with just one

to love more than one's
worse than not loving at all
hate whom you will, dear
but fall in love with just one
