I don’t want to be a Priest anymore

I want to be an ordained  Monk

Many will not understand me

In a far away land with myself

I shall be free from their logic

The  smile on the moon
Seems a frown,
Since our world
Flipped
Up-side-down.

The one-legged runner
In a three-legged race
Smiled,
Cause his bi-pedded
Partner
Can't keep
Up the pace.

The one-eyed
Astronomer
Studied starry skies;
Discovered all the
Black holes
When he closed
His only eye.

It's only one's perspective
Making one selective;
I'll be more receptive
To those so soon rejected.

We were kids trapped in ultra suburbia
A dying town disguised by perfectly lined houses
Filled with children, fake smiles, and cancerous spouses
To escape it all we rode our bikes like a teenage armada

Not knowing where our wheels took us, they took us away
We found adventures in silly things like abandoned houses and railways
All of us held hands while we sat around the fire
Coughing out our hearts quietly so we didn't wake the earth

I remember the time my parents yelled at me
For being a little too girly
Or when her mother burned her with cigarettes
For doing something she'll never regret
But in all this pain we became better people
Let's not forget the times we got in trouble for being us

Sleep is sometimes, just a way of escaping.
You don’t have to be constantly reminded of the things that went wrong.
You don’t have to think of all the memories
and the things you left unsaid.
Just for a little while,
you are unaware of all the things that make you sad.
You are in a state of calmness,
a place where you don’t worry about anything.
But, the second you wake up
everything is brought back to the sad reality.
You suddenly remember where you are
and all the things that have happened.

Too lazy to be ambitious,
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days' worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

I don't expect you to understand
Why I recoil when
You extend your arms and hands
Why I brace for impact
Within the trajectory of your touch
It is warm,
and I am cold.
It is wind,
and I am stone.
