Her eyes hold the stories of nations,
As old and wrinkled as they are.
They glimmer with the fight of a people,
A people who made it very far.

A people who fought for independence,
A people who bled, sweated and cried.
A people who refused to be redundant,
A people who for, many men and women died.

A people who tasted civilisation,
A people who fell to natures final call.
A people who gained some freedoms,
And kept on until they had gained them all.

A people whose names are set in history,
A people made immortal by the pen.
A people who create our mythology,
All these people thought useless back then.

Her eyes hold the stories of nations,
As old and wrinkled as they are.
They glimmer with the fight of our people
We people who made it very far.
In recognition of all the greats

I don’t like you.
When the wind blows and I think of you,
I hate it.
I don’t like you in a way
that you always make me worry.
I don’t like you because when I really miss you,
you’re still not missing me.
I don’t like you like my eyes;
they’re no good for me,
I don’t like it when you’re the only one I see.
I cry. I sleep. I wake up.
I think of you, and I hate it.
I don’t like it because it only reminds me
of how you love someone else
when in fact I’m here, waiting for you.
I don’t like you like the moon,
which disappears when the morning comes.
I don’t like you.
I hate you.
I don’t like you when you smile at me,
you’re only taking my breath away,
I don’t like it because I know
those smiles are not made for me.
But most of all,
I hate you so much
because you’re still making me fall in love.
I don’t like you!
I don’t like you simply because I love you!

I understand that I'm not the first book you would pick up, that is if you were looking at the cover.
For there are so many books with alluring colors, and I am one dim color with a tattered binding.
But understand one thing; just because what your eyes see first isn't what your mind will interpret later on.
Yeah, an eye-catching outside layer is nice to look at, but what about the inside?
I promise you that even though I may not catch your eye, I have an unique story that has descriptive details that will over take you and your senses.
I will leave you breathless.
When you are finished with me and set me down, you will not be done with me.
You will refer to me about many things and one day my storyline may cross your mind.

I decided today
To become a model outright
Not one that walks the runway
But one that walks through life

Someone that others can follow
Not a leader per sa
But one that sets higher standards
Of morals along the way

One who is a prime example
In the way that things are done
Who's opinion isn't like the wind
So he can receive the praise of man

I'll be a model that gets my wisdom
From the greatest book that's ever been written
Sharing the reason that it was given
Bringing to Earth that peace of Heaven

When asked the burning question
Of what would Jesus do
The example in me they will see
Time and again through and through

For I feel the time has come
Yes I feel the time is now
To open up to what needs to be done
To let this model out

That is why today I decided
To become this model outright
Not another one that walks the runway
But one that stands up and walks through life

We loved your ample bosoms,
Dear Grandmothers,
So soft and pillow-like;
The perfect place to lay sleepy heads.

We loved your voluminous laps,
Dear Grannies,
Wrapped in yards of cotton;
The perfect place to rest teary faces.

We loved your full long dresses,
Dear mothers of our parents,
In lengths well past your knees;
The perfect place to hide a shy child.
