You are standing there outside my window
Waving your hand and smiling
I am feeling like I will run and hug you
But a **** girl comes along
And makes your eyes bigger
Why not?
She is wearing a see-through dress
And the curves of her body
Are kenspeckle to your eyes
You leave with a smug look
While I am here, broken
Gazing at the fine lines
I see in the mirror

I listen to your music,
look at your art,
become jealous;
wishing someone
could love me
the way you love
her, wishing someone
could write a song about me,
paint a picture of my smile;

in a long sentence
unwinding to say
    you are beautiful
    and I love you.

I don't write uplifting words
my poems are  stones I throw at the soaring birds
Because I'm jealous
Yearning to get that high and it makes me rebellious
All I want is a friend
But y'all just pretend
I invite you to a home
Love you just like kin
And what do I get in return
A back stab and a burn
But just wait
Just wait  youll get yo turn
Think one day you'll learn
That what you get is what you earn
What you dish
Is what you fish
What you leave
Is what you receive
Then one day we can try again
You can try to accompany me

Those words which carelessly slips
As if natural, through those lips
How dare you so nonchalantly
Say the words 'I love you' to me
Your words have stricken me
Giving me delight and vulnerability
You're safe yet so dangerous
You make me eager and nervous
Every moment with you is an adventure
Bringing out my weakness yet making me secure
I love how you're confusing and exciting
Also how you're incomprehensibly enticing
But I fear my vulnerability
And your complete unpredictability
You're capable of leaving me broken and sore
I love risks but I've never been like this before
Entrusting myself is terrifying
Because of this present longing
For your reassurance that you'll stay
That you'll stand by, 'come what may'
I despise the idea of vulnerability
But the thought of losing you kills me
So permit me to get used to and be addicted
To the feeling of being vulnerable and protected
Be my strength and be a man of your word
Mean the 'I love you' that's unlike anything I've already heard
